‘In the St. Peter Basilica in front of Pope Francis, in silence, with the rosary in their hands, the youth of Catholic Action do not only carry the pain of mourning, they carry a promise. The promise of a Church that continues to walk, pray and hope, in the footsteps of those who served the Risen Christ with humility and courage’.
It is, in fact, an ancient gesture, a tradition carried on by generations of youth of Catholic Action. A gesture made up of silence, prayer and presence. Today, as two centuries ago, small groups of young people take turns, a few metres from the Pope’s body. An extreme vigil of love, discreet but intense.’
