Father Jihad Youssef, now abbot of the Deir Mar Musa Community in Syria and at the speakers’ table with Elena Bolognesi, translator of the text from Arabic into Italian, Luigi Maffezzoli editor of the book and Msgr. Alain de Raemy, present in his capacity as president of the Swiss Bishops’ Conference’s Commission for Dialogue with Muslims, retraced the intense journey of the Community founded in the desert of Syria in the 1990s from an old abandoned convent by Father Paolo dall’ Oglio, an Italian Jesuit kidnapped by Isis ten years ago (it was 29/2013) in Raqqa, Syria.
