With the participation of two young people from Holy Land
Diary “Day by Day”
Tuesday 20 / 8 / 2019
Upon arriving in Romania and a day of discovering a small part of the country along with some of its heritage and culture, we started the program on Tuesday morning with mass. We introduced each other with the help of two fun name games. The first workshop was a continuation of getting to know each other, but on a much deeper level as we went back in time looking back to our roots and our origins in the Catholic Action. Talking to each other we shared how we were influenced by other members of the Catholic Action during our growth and how we are influencing others who started their journey within the Association. We discovered that the most important thing in influencing others is taking care of them.
During the afternoon session, we reflected on the different youth groups that are present within the Catholic action between the ages of twelve and thirty, discussion the different actions and challenges typical to the groups.
We are very excited and looking forward to learn and discover new things while building new friendships.
Wednesday 21 / 8 / 2019
After last nights reflection that was organised by the Maltese Delegation (ŻAK), helping us going deeper in our personal relationship with God, we held the international evening, exchanging the different cuisines, dances, phrases and traditions.
The morning prayer was prepared by the italian group focusing on God’s message on sharing from the little things that we have, even when we think they have no value. We had an evaluation to look back at yesterday program discussing how much we appreciated the content and how it helped us to become one group. Then we focused on what projects, youth exchanges and erasmus+ are and discovered the different opportunities available for our youths. During one of the workshops we discussed how the different catholic action work in different countries and at different levels. As a simulation we were challenged to build our own project, learning together first hand at what it takes to organize a youth exchange and using all available resources.
We concluded the day with the holy mass, summarising the day with a final message that in all of what we do we must recognise that God has a project for us. Focusing our resources, give them back to the world joining forces with the others.
Thursday 22 / 8 / 2019
Today our day began with a prayer prepared by the Romanian group then we focused on Fundraising and Grants.
Starting with a brainstorming session, our first step was to discover the reasons why we give (time, energies and money) and shared the different ways we know (and we experience) to collect money for our projects in different countries.
The information we received through the following conference thaught us how to be concrete and creative in fundraising.
But the most important thing we underline was that we have to make a relations also when we ask for money then we discover more about erasmus+ project how they are working.
In the afternoon we visited the city center of Iasi and then we Joined the catholic church of the diocesi celebrating with them the festivity of the Cathedral and the Bishop told us “always be youngs that showing your faith through your smile” and after that we had a dinner in the city center.

All the workshops we did during owls, were a mixture of tools that we can use in our organization with our youth. All the different workshops including the erasmus plus information helped us to build an actual project that we can work on within our organisation. Before coming to owls most of the participants did not have the knowledge about the different opportunities available for our youth. The workshops and session we had helped us to increase our own knowledge to spread back home with our youth.
